About Me

This is Sundance.  She was adopted to me by the BRAT organization (Basenji Rescue & Transport) a few years ago.  We think she’s about 8 years old.  She was brought to the rescue center to see if she could be saved.  Looking at her now, you’d never know that she ever had problems.

Sundance wasn’t her original name.  Her old name (Sassy) didn’t seem to suit her.  And, since I forfeited a weekend at the Sundance Film Festival, drove to Tampa and picked her up. Hence, her name.

Sundance has been my traveling companion from the day I picked her up in Tampa.  Now that she’s familiar with all of the travel preparation and routine she gets so excited.  She sits in the passenger seat of the SUV and waiting patiently.  My vehicle windows will forever be smeared as she goes from one window to another.

Sundance is also my second basenji.  Mia was my first ever dog who was also a rescue.  At about 5-6 years old she developed fanconis disease  which was manageable until we ran out of options.  The second night at home alone, I logged onto the BRAT website.   Just looking.  Then I found my next travel companion.

I invite you to log onto the BRAT website if you are interested in this breed that doesn’t bark.
